Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

By using PsychNow Cartagena (“PsychNow”, “the platform”), you agree to these terms. PsychNow is a technology marketplace intermediary — not a healthcare provider (IPS) and not an employer of physicians.

Nature of the service

PsychNow facilitates connections between patients and independently licensed physicians (psychiatrists and psychiatry residents). PsychNow does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Clinical care is provided solely by the assigned physician.

Physicians

Physicians on the platform are independent contractors, not employees of PsychNow. They are responsible for their own clinical judgment, prescriptions, medical records, and malpractice (responsabilidad médica) coverage. PsychNow verifies credentials such as tarjeta profesional and ReTHUS before making a physician available for assignment. Residents must confirm active enrollment in a psychiatry residency program.

No medical emergency service

PsychNow is not for emergencies. In Colombia, call 123 or go to the nearest emergency room for urgent care.

Payments

Fees are collected through Mercado Pago for platform facilitation services. Refund and cancellation terms are communicated at checkout and may depend on physician assignment status.

Prescriptions and controlled substances

Prescriptions are issued solely by the treating physician in accordance with Colombian law. For private-pay visits, controlled substances typically require Recetario Oficial de Control Especial (and related INVIMA/MinSalud rules). MIPRES remains relevant for technologies not financed by UPC where applicable; Circular Externa 0019 of 2026 shifted certain UPC-financed ambulatory reporting toward RDA/IHCE — PsychNow does not operate as an EPS/IPS dispenser and does not guarantee any specific medication will be prescribed or dispensed. Physicians must follow the rules applicable to their prescription.

In-person visits; telemedicine boundary

PsychNow facilitates in-person home or location visits. The platform does not host video consultations. Telemedicine habilitación requirements therefore do not apply to PsychNow as a marketplace intermediary for in-person matching.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PsychNow is not liable for medical care provided by independent physicians. Physicians carry their own professional liability coverage as a condition of participating.

Acceptable use

You agree to provide accurate information and use the platform lawfully. We may suspend access for abuse, fraud, or safety concerns.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Consumer and data-protection rights under Colombian law remain available where applicable.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
